Inspiration from eastern Canada and southern Ontario dominate my landscape work. Portraits, florals, and other genre also inspire me. Watercolour was my medium for 20 years, but now I prefer the oil medium; mostly for the ability to work in a more contemplative way. It allows me the freedom to make changes and respond to the work as I progress. I like inventing a sense of play in my work. Rhythm and harmony are important elements of painting to me.
I live in a country house near Elginburg, Ontario where I have my studio. In the summer I operate a seasonal studio gallery there; The Gallery at the Porch Door.

I worked in fashion design before I began painting. My art education is mainly self taught. I’ve studied workshops with fine world class artists in Canada, the UK and Australia. I’m an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and the Portrait Society of Canada.
